What DownSub is, what it is not, and the limits of the subtitle extractor.
This DownSub disclaimer covers independent status, public caption availability, copyright responsibility, and extractor limitations. DownSub is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to YouTube, Google, Vimeo, or any other third-party video platform.
Subtitle availability depends on the source video, the video owner, the platform, and technical access to public caption tracks. Some videos do not include captions, and some platforms restrict access to caption data.
Users are responsible for the URLs they submit and for how they use any subtitles or transcripts. Use DownSub only for videos you own, have permission to use, or where your use is lawful and allowed by the relevant platform terms.
DownSub should not be used to bypass private videos, paywalls, DRM, login requirements, members-only areas, regional restrictions, or any access control. If captions are not publicly available, DownSub will not claim otherwise.
Captions and transcripts may be protected by copyright. Do not redistribute, sell, republish, or present someone else’s captions as your own unless you have the right to do so.
DownSub looks for public caption data exposed by supported video pages. Results can fail when a platform changes, blocks access, requires login, restricts a region, or does not expose captions for that video.
This DownSub disclaimer works alongside the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. For questions, use the Contact page.
